Title: Diaphyseal Pseudoarthrosis Treatment Algorithm

Abstract

A Therapeutic Guide of Diaphyseal Pseudoarthrosis is presented with the different degrees of pseudoarthrosis, from the simplest to the great bone loss, mentioning the type of treatment that should be followed to obtain better results. I focus in two topics:
1. Diaphyseal pseudoarthrosis and osteoporosis due to disuse treatment. Interlocking nail plus external fixator Indications and system failure. With and without Teriparaide. A small sample, why we have to combine 2 implants is presented to give stability to some types of diaphyseal pseudoarthrosis, infected or not, with osteoporosis added due to disuse. We show why it does not get fracture consolidation and how we treat this problem, justifying why we have to use 2 implants, their benefits and causes of failure of this technique. Objective: We show advantages of interlocking nail join external fixative technique with clinical cases. Indications and causes of failure. Results: according type of pseudoarthrosis. Discussion: We explain: Why I have to use 2 implants when there is osteoporosis due to disuse, and we use Teriparatide in some cases as a complement to enhance consolidation. Our results: successful 93% Failure 7%.
2. SSEIDO Elongation technique. How to lengthen a diaphyseal bone with a centromedullary nail and an external fixator.
